These gorgeous necklaces are created using the careful art of micro-macramé, a refined knotting technique with origins rooted in the decorative textile traditions of the Middle East and Asia, and later became widely popularised in fashion and home decor in the 1970s. It involves intricate knots using several small cords to create beautiful, detailed patterns. The cords are woven tightly around a stone or fossil, then finished with a hardening wax to keep the fibers from loosening.
This necklace is one of the most intricate pieces we have found. It features three semi precious gemstones - one Lapis, one Labradorite and one 1.75 inch Tigers Eye, as well as two Tigers Eye beads. It has an adjustable braided cord that extends approximately twenty-two inches. This knotted pendant is quite extraordinary spanning seven Inches long and 5 inches wide.
